Erin Carenbauer Ball, Wheeling, WV, and Bethany Schunn, St. Clairsville, OH, have both been appointed to the Board of Directors of Unified Bank, Martins Ferry, OH, the wholly owned commercial bank subsidiary of United Bancorp, (NASDAQ UBCP).
Erin Carenbauer Ball holds the position of Vice President for Carenbauer Distributing Corporation located in Wheeling, WV. She received a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University where she majored in Journalism with a minor in Business Administration. Carenbauer Ball has been with Carenbauer Distributing
for the past 18 years. Before that, she served as a public relations representative for WQED Public Broadcasting in Pittsburgh, PA. An active member in the community, Carenbauer Ball has served on numerous boards of directors and committees, including the YMCA, Wheeling Country Club, ReInvent Wheeling, OnTrac - Wheeling’s retention committee, OVConnect and she currently serves on the board of directors for Oglebay Institute. Carenbauer Ball resides in Wheeling with her husband and two sons.
Bethany Schunn is the Plant Manager of the Cardinal Plant, an 1800 MW coal-fired power plant in Brilliant, OH. Schunn holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from West Virginia Wesleyan College and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Wheeling Jesuit University. In 2018, Schunn was selected to speak on a women’s panel at PowerGen International, the world’s largest power generation event. In 2019, Bethany was named by the Public Utilities Fortnightly Magazine as one of the “Under Forty Rising Stars - Next Generation of Up and Comers in the Utilities Industry”. Schunn was also recognized in the March 2019 edition of Rural Electric Magazine as the first woman to serve as Plant Manager of the Cardinal Power Plant in its fifty-year history. Schunn currently serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the Ohio River Valley Council, Boy Scouts of America. She resides in St. Clairsville with her husband and three children.
